Limited Edition USS North Carolina Teakwood Ring

*We highly recommend getting your ring professionally sized before ordering.*

Rustic & Main, a North Carolina neighbor to F&H, has created one-of-a-kind, limited edition rings made from USS North Carolina teakwood. Each ring is hand carved with its own unique number, and includes a whiskey barrel liner and copper inlay to create a truly unique piece of art.

The Story

When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, they knew they had "awoken a sleeping giant," but they had no idea just how prepared this giant was for war. The USS North Carolina (BB-55) was built in 1940 and commissioned for service in April of 1941. She was the newest and fastest battleship which the US had ever created and would go on to lead every major naval offensive in WWII, earning 15 battle stars. Her wartime complement included 144 officers and 2,195 enlisted men of the finest generation America has ever known.

After her decommissioning in June of 1947 and subsequent restoration project years later, the Teak wood of her original decks were made available to the public in limited supply. We are very excited to offer a limited collection of rings from this story filled wood.

The whiskey barrel liner provides both an aesthetic contrast and adds to the story. Most of the whiskey barrel wood contains traces of the charred oak, part of the whiskey barrel making process, and adds distinct flecks of color to the oak. The optional copper band brings an extra dimension of detail to the ring and reminds us of the old brass works.

A Sailor and his Whiskey

For fun, and because it looks amazing, we have paired this heritage teak wood with another favorite of any sailor: whiskey! The whiskey barrel liner provides both an aesthetic contrast and adds to the story. Most of the whiskey barrel wood we use contains traces of the charred oak, part of the whiskey barrel making process, and adds distinct flecks of color to the oak. The optional copper band brings an extra dimension of detail to the ring and reminds us of the old brass works
